According to a survey of 87 institutions commissioned by vice chancellors' group Universities UK, the University and College Employers Association (Ucea) and GuildHE, universities believe staff should share more of the cost and risk of pension schemes. The study, which examines future higher education pension arrangements, also found widespread support among employers for allocating the cost of early retirements to individual institutions, rather than this cost being shared across all participants.
