The Value and Risk of Defined Contribution Pension Schemes
The University of Bath
Jul 2012 United Kingdom Scheme Issues & Trends, Scheme Design (inc. DB & DC)

The study reveals that there is a 10% chance a UK pensioner will receive a pension that is only a third of their final salary. However, UK pensioners stand to fare better than those in France, Italy and Spain where, given historical returns, there is a 10% probability they will receive a pension that will be a quarter or less of their final salary.
