This survey has revealed some startling results that suggest the future of financial services is far from clear. Of biggest concern to the Government is the overwhelming rejection of their two cornerstone initiatives selling simple and comprehensible products and the need to get people to start saving for their retirement. One surprising result was that IFAs continue to support the beleaguered With Profits industry, despite the recent poor performance of many life offices with profit funds, and the knock-on effect to products such as endowments.
