Principal Global Investors commissioned CREATE-Research to carry out a follow-up report entitled "Innovation in the Age of Volatility" to the "Market Volatility: Friend or Foe?" report released in June 2012. The report surveyed 289 respondents including pension plans, pension consultants, fund distributors and asset managers from 29 countries. A major finding from the report was that income in retirement products will focus on replacement of income earned in employment as fewer and fewer individuals receive DB-style pensions.
