This report covers the sixth wave of the PIMS Panel, designed to designed to take a snapshot of the thinking of senior financial intermediaries. Profitability has fallen to 6th place from being the area of most concern, with panelists now most concerned with controlling costs. Availability and retention of skilled people is the second highest area of concern. Legislation and regulation is the third most important area of concern to panelists, consistent with the previous wave in terms of positioning.

Panelists continue to believe that their business models are viable, although the mood is rather more cautious than it has been in the past, with 55.8% of panelists saying their business of probably viable, compared to 43.2% saying completely viable.
