The impact of pension scheme investment strategies on the levy they pay the Pension Protection Fund (PPF) came under the microscope at the start of the National Association of Pension Funds’ annual investment conference today (Wednesday). PPF Chief Executive, Partha Dasgupta, unveiled a survey carried out by KPMG based on 95, mainly large, pension schemes with assets worth more than £190 billion. Commissioned by the PPF as part of its commitment to monitor the implications of investment risk for its levy payers, the survey looks at how much schemes use hedging strategies to manage their exposure to risks such as inflation and interest rates.
