According to research by JLT Benefit Solutions and the Pensions Management Institute, only 14% of pension schemes understand both the direct and indirect costs of compliance with auto-enrolment. The study, which looks at the relationship between administration and effective scheme governance, also found that just 4% of schemes have a fully automated joining and opt-out process for pension scheme membership - a worrying statistic with the introduction of the workplace pension reforms now less than 18 months away.
