One in three baby boomer homeowners will still be saddled with a mortgage when they reach retirement age, according to research by Impartial.co.uk. The study reveals that more than 1.4 million homeowners aged 55 and over admit to having at least 10 years left to run on their mortgage - taking them to, or even well beyond, the current state retirement age of 65.
