2003 Investment Management Survey
Survey of a representative sample of the investment management industry
IBM
Jun 2003 Ireland, United Kingdom Investment - Management
According to this survey, fund managers saw their overall profitability improve by almost a fifth from 20% to 24% during 2002. Fund managers’ absolute costs fell 2% on 2001, continuing the trend evidenced in last year’s report when the upward trend slowed from 18% to 6%.  Net new monies rose from 3.2% of funds under management (FUM) to 4.5%, and pricing strengthened by a half a basis point.

Fund Managers holding their own?
Asset Managers' costs and revenues
IBM
Dec 2002 United Kingdom Investment - Management
Reversing the slide experienced last year, when profits declined by a third, this report shows that margin on revenue for UK fund managers recovered from 19% to 25% to September, 2002. This improvement has been brought about by a combination of cost cutting (absolute costs were down 7% on 2001) and a small increase in assets under management.
