FTSE SmallCap Directors' Remuneration 2009/10
Hewitt Associates
22 Mar 2010 United Kingdom Scheme Issues & Trends, Payment of Pensions, Investment - General, Executive Pensions
Hewitt New Bridge Street's (HNBS) latest survey on executive remuneration shows that the economic downturn has led to companies quickly freezing executive pay and reducing bonuses. The research also showed that around 60% of FTSE SmallCap directors currently participate in a defined contribution (DC) pension arrangement and the median company contribution rate is 15% of salary and the median cash supplement is around 20% of salary. However, HNBS predicts that forthcoming tax changes this year and next will result in companies exploring how viable potentially more tax-efficient choices may be for their senior executives.

Matching contributions, automated features and investment tools continue to be high priorities
Hewitt Associates
8 Feb 2010 United States Savings, Investment - General, Countries - US
According to a study from Hewitt Associates, many US employers are increasingly losing confidence in their workers' ability to save for retirement and, as a result, plan to step up their efforts this year to help workers maximise their 401(k) savings. High on employers' priority lists in 2010 were restoring company 401(k) matches that were suspended or reduced during the market downfall and adding automated tools and investment features that take the guesswork out of saving and investing.
