According to research from Heartwood Wealth Management, individuals over the age of 55 are planning to remain in semi-retirement for an average period of six and a half years. Just under a quarter (24%) of individuals in semi-retirement plan to remain so indefinitely with a further 5% expecting to remain in the workplace for at least ten years.

The latest research from Heartwood Wealth Management, reveals that 1.4 million semi-retired over 55s plan to work an average of four years longer than the previous generation of retirees. Half of those questioned said they plan to continue working until they have saved enough to maintain their current standard of living.
