According to a report produced for Grandparents Plus by the Institute for Gerontology at King's College London, 23% of grandparents aged 50 and over are still in work, with British grandparents being twice as likely to be in paid work as those in Europe. The study, which covered 12 European countries, also warned that Government plans across Europe to raise retirement ages are likely to have significant implications for pension acquisition.
