As part of the campaign for equality between men and women, the Fawcett Society has released the "Women's Financial Assets and Debts" survey, which provides detailed information about savings, debt and how financial behaviour adapts as situations change.  It found that women were less likely than men to save or contribute to a pension scheme, with 72% of married men surveyed contributing to an employer's pension scheme compared to 68% of married women. In single people of both genders the rate was 54%.
