Emerging Markets Private Equity Survey 2009
6 Apr 2009 WORLDWIDE Worldwide News, Investment - General
According to the latest Emerging Markets Private Equity Survey, a majority of institutional investors believe the risks of emerging market private equity (EM PE) have increased in the past year, however four out of five investors expect to expand their exposure to private equity in the next five years. The biggest movers in the investment attractiveness rankings are Brazil, which shifts to second place from fourth in 2008. Latin America moves up two places, while Russia and Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) drop three to the bottom of the league table. The survey, conducted in the first two months of the year, covers 156 institutional investors, 34% of which are pension funds and endowments and 31% fund-of-funds.
