The CFA Institute Centre for Financial Market Integrity has conducted a survey on the AIFM Directive. The study found that the majority of CFA Institute members in the European Union vote for regulatory authorisation of managers of alternative investment funds and nearly all support mandatory professional requirements for fund managers. Members also support the need for independent third party valuations and access for managers from third countries, but reject control over leverage and short selling.
