Axa Life Invest's Cost of Living in Retirement report has found that one in five pensioners surveyed was caught out by lower than expected annuity rates, whilst one in ten admitted that their retirement income was considerably less than they had expected. The report also revealed that more than three quarters of people approaching retirement have no idea what their pension fund is invested in or how it is performing.
