This research looks particularly at regulation focused on the long term savings market and at tackling the 27 bn savings gap. The findings reveal that retail banks are best placed to take advantage of the 'depolarisation double-whammy' by selling products to mass market consumers included in the savings gap (i.e. low-middle income earners) and to higher income earners who are prepared to switch from an IFA to a bank.
